India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a strong message amid the escalating West Asia oil crisis triggered by disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking in Hyderabad during the launch of ₹9,400 crore development projects in Telangana, he urged citizens to use petrol, diesel and gas with great restraint. He also suggested work-from-home where possible and postponing foreign travel and large events to conserve fuel. As tensions linked to the US-Iran conflict continue to impact global oil supply, Modi highlighted India’s push toward solar energy, ethanol blending, LPG coverage and CNG expansion to reduce dependence on imports and strengthen security.
