Koderma: The Koderma district administration is reviewing the responses that the office has received from the headmasters and subject teachers of 40 schools, who were given two days to explain why their schools failed to achieve 100% results in the Class X board exams conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) this year.Koderma district, which celebrated a top-rank finish in the Class X board exams conducted by the JAC last year, slipped to 20th place. With a 93.86% pass rate, the performance fell below the state average. Out of the 12,214 students who took the Class X boards this year, 11,465 passed, sparking concerns about the effectiveness of year-long initiatives like ‘Project Impact’, ‘Project Rail’, and specialised residential coaching facilities.“The department is committed to ensuring the all-round development of children and implementing high standards of education for the improvement of results. Action will be taken after the review process is over,” Koderma district education officer (DEO) Avinash Ram said.Rajnandini, a student from the Upgraded High School in Sonpura, Jaynagar, secured the top spot in the district, yet the school received a notice because two out of its 130 students failed.Deputy commissioner (DC) Utkarsh Gupta said, “The results are being reviewed. A workflow will be designed and implemented to improve the performance of students. The district administration is committed to improving the quality of education and performance of students.”
