Mangaluru: Two girls, including a teenager, reportedly drowned in the Gundya stream in Kadaba on Friday. The deceased are Arpita, 15, and her cousin Sunita, 21.According to police, the incident occurred at Kutrupady village under Kadaba police station limits. The duo reportedly went to the stream along with family members. Police suspect that the two drowned after entering a deeper portion of the stream without realising the depth of the water. Though those accompanying them attempted to rescue them, the efforts proved unsuccessful. A search operation was later conducted, and both bodies were retrieved from the water. A case has been registered at Kadaba police station.
