Nagpur: Decomposed bodies of a mother and daughter were found inside their Gadge Nagar residence, with police suspecting a possible sleeping pill overdose compounded by heat. The deceased were identified as Tulsabai Madhavrao Vadhai (65) and her daughter Sangita Vadhai (48). Police said Sangita was mentally challenged.According to police, Tulsabai’s son is employed in Bharuch, Gujarat. On May 2, she last spoke to him, requesting a cooler. There was no contact after that.On Tuesday evening, when repeated calls went unanswered, the son asked a relative to check on them. The relative noticed a foul odour from the house, peered through a window, and alerted neighbours and the police after spotting signs of disturbance inside.A team from Nandanvan police station reached the spot and forced open the door, finding both bodies in a decomposed state. Preliminary findings suggest the two may have consumed sleeping pills. Police believe the deaths occurred around May 2.No suicide note was found, and there were no visible external injuries on either body.Police are probing the source of the medication and awaiting the autopsy report to establish the exact cause of death. Foul play has been ruled out at this stage.
