Nagpur: In a rare instance of BJP-Congress convergence on a civic issue, the long-pending road construction from Kadbi Chowk to Mominpura Chowk in Prabhag 8 has finally begun after Congress corporator Wasim Khan raised concerns with Union minister and city MP Nitin Gadkari over delays. Khan recently met Gadkari during his janta darbar and highlighted the slow pace of work, which was causing inconvenience to residents and motorists. Taking cognisance, Gadkari directed concerned authorities to expedite the project while ensuring that citizens do not face hardships during execution. The development comes as a relief for locals, as the stretch remained neglected for a long time despite repeated follow-ups by public representatives. Khan thanked Gadkari for his intervention and said the completion of the road will significantly improve traffic movement and ease congestion in the area. He also urged the Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (MRIDC), which is overseeing the work, to ensure high construction quality and adhere to the timeline so that the benefits reach citizens at the earliest.
