Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring has said “gangster-free Punjab” will be the topmost priority of his party, holding the governing AAP responsible for the rise of gangster culture in the state.“There is an atmosphere of fear across Punjab. The way the gangsters are resorting to killing people, nobody is feeling secure in the state,” Warring said. He asserted Punjab Congress will take the fight against the gangsters to a logical conclusion, Expressing relief over Centre blocking the release of the web series, ‘Lawrence of Punjab’, he lashed out at BJP for trying to claim credit for it. He pointed out it was only after his sustained campaign, serving legal notice, filing a PIL and writing to the Prime Minister, that the Centre acted. He alleged the BJP govt in Gujarat was protecting and patronising Lawrence, not allowing him to be moved out of the state on a production warrant even if involved in heinous crimes outside.
