Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy will hold collectors’ conference at the secretariat on Wednesday (March 4)and give them a road map on implementation of the Congress govt’s ambitious 99-day Praja Palana-Pragati Pranalika programme starting March 6.The CM is also expected to talk about the performance of the district collectors, where they were lagging and where they need to focus. The CM reportedly expressed his unhappiness over some of IAS officers not working up to the expectations of the incumbent govt.Indications to this effect were dropped by Revanth Reddy at the review meeting with the principal secretaries and secretaries of various departments on Saturday. However, sources told TOI that the main focus of the collectors’ conference would be to give directions to make the 99-day programme a grand success.Revanth is of the view that people voted the Congress to victory in the 2023 assembly election after the party promised transparency, accountability, and providing the desired change to the people, which the previous govt could not deliver. The Congress govt completed two years and three months. Now, it was time to move forward with a renewed spirit to maintain the trust placed by the people in the Congress govt. The CM is expected to direct the district collectors to finalise the programmes from the village, mandal, and district to state level as part of the 99-day programme. “The CM wants the district collectors to go into the field and ensure that welfare schemes are reaching every eligible candidate. Revanth also wants a hygiene drive to be organised in all departments and all offices in the state,” a source said.
