The camp was held to facilitate higher education admissions for students who have cleared Class XII public examination but yet to join colleges

Coimbatore: As many as 90 students were given direct college admissions at the ‘Uyarvukku Padi’ special camp held at Karpagam Higher Education Institution, in Eachanari, in the city on Friday. Scholarships of ₹20,000 were also provided to two students, while 45 students collected information on college admission options.The camp was held to facilitate higher education admissions for students who cleared Class XII public examination in the 2025-26 academic year but have not yet joined colleges, and for students who wrote the Class XII supplementary examination. A total of 145 students attended along with parents and teachers, taking the overall number of participants to over 250. The camp was jointly organised by the Coimbatore district administration and the school education department.More than 30 leading educational institutions set up stalls at the camp, and offered on-the-spot admissions, guidance on educational financial assistance and bank loan facilities, and support for obtaining certificates required for higher education.Meanwhile, the district administration has said that similar camps will be held on August 10 at NGM Arts and Science College on Palakkad Road, in Pollachi; on August 11 at Dr. R.V. Arts and Science College, Karamadai; and on August 12 at Hindusthan Arts and Science College, Nava India, Coimbatore.All camps will be held from 9am to 1 pm. Students who are yet to join higher education and those requiring scholarships and certificates have been urged to utilise these camps as a final opportunity for this academic year.
