Vadodara: A dispute over parking in Atladara escalated into a violent clash and stone pelting on Sunday afternoon, leaving nine people injured and triggering a scare in the neighbourhood, with police booking members of both groups for unlawful assembly and assault. Atladara police have arrested 10 persons involved in the clash.Police said the incident began when one of the accused tried to park his car in the area, reviving tensions between the neighbours that had surfaced a week earlier.Complainant Pavan Chawda told police that Yogesh Chawda’s elder brother runs a garage nearby and often parks vehicles in the locality, leading to disputes. According to Pavan, Yogesh arrived on Sunday when Pavan had parked his motorcycle near his house and began honking repeatedly.Pavan said that when he objected, Yogesh started abusing him and his family. The argument escalated, with Pavan saying Yogesh attacked him with bricks and that the latter’s family members assaulted his parents and wife. He also alleged that his car was damaged and windowpanes of his house were smashed.Yogesh filed a counter-complaint, stating that he had only asked Pavan to park his motorcycle properly. He alleged that Pavan began abusing him, after which a clash broke out. Yogesh said that Pavan and his family members attacked him and his relatives with bricks.Atladara police registered cases against both sides for unlawful assembly and causing injury and effected 10 arrests.
