Nagpur: About 841 results remain pending, many even 45 days after the last examination, at Nagpur University, triggering sharp criticism from members during the senate meeting on Friday.Data presented at the meeting revealed that out of 1,193 examinations conducted by the university, only 340 results were declared so far, while 853 results are still pending. Senate members pointed out that 12 results were declared late on Wednesday night, raising serious concerns over delays in the examination process.Members accused the university administration of failing to ensure timely declaration of winter examination results, stating that the delay is affecting the academic future of thousands of students.Several senate members highlighted serious mistakes in marksheets issued to students. In many cases, enrolment numbers were missing, while complaints were also received about incorrect marks being entered in the results.Another issue raised during the discussion related to practical examination marks. Written examinations were conducted first and practical examinations later as part of an arrangement to respond to queries from the Governor’s office. Because of this sequence, many marksheets currently appear incomplete, as practical marks are not yet added, creating confusion among students.Members also questioned the competence of the external software agency handling examination data and result processing. It was alleged that the company lacks basic technical capability and adequate manpower to manage the workload.Officials reportedly informed the meeting that although the tender process was completed on Oct 15, the agency failed to handle nearly 1,500 programme-related processes efficiently, resulting in delays. Senate members demanded a thorough inquiry into the agency and the tender process, warning that students should not suffer due to administrative lapses.“If results are not declared within 30 days, what explanation will be given to the Governor’s office?” member Manmohan Bajpai asked, urging immediate corrective action to ensure students do not lose an academic year due to the delay.
