Nagpur: The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Nagpur Rural Police seized 80gm of mephedrone (MD) powder and other material, valued at 4 lakh, from a private bus on Nagpur-Amravati highway at Gondkhairi on Wednesday night. Acting on a tip-off, the team, under guidance of SP Harssh A Poddar, addl SP Anil Mhaske, and other senior officers, laid a trap and intercepted the bus. A black plastic parcel hidden under a seat contained the contraband. Technical evidence identified the accused as serial offender Anshul Gajbhiye (a resident of Nagpur currently staying in Mumbai).
A case was registered at Kalmeshwar police station under Sections 8(a) and 22(a) of the NDPS Act. Police have launched a search to nab the other accused in the case.
