Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has cancelled eight MEMU train services on Tuesday due to safety-related modernisation works between Malatipatpur and Puri stations under Khurda Road railway division.Railway officials said temporary cancellations are necessary to facilitate infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving safety, reliability and operational efficiency on the busy Puri section.The cancelled trains are Khurda Road-Puri MEMU (68403), Puri-Khurda Road MEMU (68404), Cuttack-Puri MEMU (68415), Puri-Cuttack MEMU (68416), Bhadrak-Cuttack MEMU (68437), Cuttack-Bhadrak MEMU (68438), Cuttack-Paradip MEMU (58405) and Paradip-Cuttack MEMU (58406).Cancellations are likely to inconvenience daily commuters and pilgrims travelling to Puri. Railway authorities have advised passengers to check latest train running status before starting their journey. The modernisation work is part of ongoing efforts by the railways to strengthen infrastructure and enhance passenger safety in the Puri section, officials said.
