Hyderabad: Tolichowki police have arrested eight people for kidnapping a minor girl and forcing her into prostitution in Attapur.The accused have been identified as Shaik Atif, an auto-rickshaw driver; brothel operators Sabiya Begum and Mohammed Hajimiya; and their associates Afreen alias Sana, Samreen Begum, Md Nadeem, Md Kaifuddin and Ali Bin Akram.According to police, Atif, who knew the 15-year-old girl, lured her with promises of marriage and a comfortable home. He took her in his auto-rickshaw from Tolichowki on Sept 2 and handed her over to Afreen and Samreen in Attapur. The girl is a school dropout.“The duo lured the girl with promises of food and shelter before selling her to Sabiya Begum, who runs a brothel in Attapur, for Rs 30,000. The amount was shared among Atif, Afreen and Samreen,” Tolichowki ACP Syed Fiaz said.Police said Sabiya Begum allegedly forced the girl into prostitution with the assistance of Nadeem, Kaifuddin and Ali Bin Akram, who arranged customers.The girl reportedly escaped from the brothel on Oct 5 and returned to her family. On Friday, her family approached the police and lodged a complaint.A case was registered under relevant provisions of the BNS, the Pocso Act and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.On Saturday, police arrested all eight accused in Attapur. Six mobile phones and an auto-rickshaw were seized from them. The accused will be produced before a court for judicial remand.
