Nagpur: A 77-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 45-year-old e-rickshaw driver in the Bhim Nagar slum area of Jaripatka. Though the crime was committed last week, a case was registered on Thursday after the survivor decided to approach the Jaripatka police.According to the complaint, the survivor, who lived alone, asked a neighbour to bring construction material in his e-rickshaw for building a toilet and bathroom at her house.Last week, while the elderly woman was having dinner, the accused arrived at her residence and allegedly raped her. “The matter came to the fore after a tiff between the survivor and the family of the accused,” said senior inspector Anil Takshande of the Jaripatka police station. The accused is yet to be arrested.
