Hyderabad: Nearly 70% of in-service teachers who appeared for the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026) qualified, with 15,749 of 22,477 candidates who appeared clearing the examination, according to results released.
Of the 24,986 candidates who applied for the online computer-based test held on Sept 8 and 9, 22,477 appeared for the examination. The overall qualification rate was 70.1%. Paper-II mathematics & science recorded the highest qualification rate at 73.6%, with 6,720 of 9,131 candidates qualifying, followed by paper-I at 68.7% and paper-II Social Studies at 67%.
The district-wise data showed considerable variation. Suryapet recorded the highest qualification rate at 80.7%, with 676 of the 837 candidates who appeared for the exam qualifying.
Yadadri Bhuvanagiri followed with 78.2%, Nalgonda with 77.5% and Khammam with 77.1%.
Kumuram Bheem Asifabad recorded the lowest rate at 52.4%, followed by Mulugu at 56.7%. In Hyderabad, 654 of the 1,063 candidates qualified, giving the district a qualification rate of 61.5%.
Rangareddy recorded 687 qualifiers among the 967 candidates who appeared, while Medchal-Malkajgiri had 157 qualifiers among 221 candidates. Among communities, SC Group-III recorded the highest qualification at 84.3%, while General category stood at 66.5% and ST at 66.1%.
