Lucknow: A 65-year-old man was injured after being attacked by stray dogs in Golaganj on Sunday.Shiv Swaroop, a resident near Yahiyaganj Jain Temple, said the incident occurred while he was passing through the Mumtaz Mahal compound area.

According to him, two dogs suddenly bit his leg. Feeling dizzy, he sat down, after which passers-by helped him reach a hospital, where he received treatment. He sustained injuries to his hands and legs and said the incident made him fearful of stepping out alone.Local residents said stray dogs are frequently seen chasing people in the area and claimed that complaints were made earlier as well. Some residents questioned the effectiveness of sterilisation and dog-catching drives and demanded steps to improve safety.Municipal animal officer Dr Abhinav Verma said that after receiving information about the incident, a team visited the spot to catch stray dogs for sterilisation and further action as per rules. Residents said they are awaiting further measures and urged authorities to address the issue at the earliest. TNN
