Ranchi: As many as 61.26 lakh children under five years of age will be administered polio doses in Jharkhand under the National Pulse Polio Campaign scheduled from June 28 to 30. On the first day of the campaign on June 28, children will be administered polio drops at 24,507 polio booths set up across the state. On June 29 and 30, health department teams will conduct door-to-door visits to reach children who could not attend the booths, ensuring that no child is left out of the immunisation drive.Health department’s additional chief secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh directed all concerned departments to ensure coordination and active participation so that the campaign evolves into a mass movement. He instructed the departments of ICDS, panchayati raj, rural development, education, and information and public relations to contribute with commitment and capacity.“Anganwadi workers, sahiyas (community health workers), panchayat representatives, self-help group members, village-level organisations, and rural development department personnel should play an active role in spreading awareness among communities,” Singh added.EOM
