Kendrapada: The additional district judge-cum-special judge (Pocso), Kendrapada, on Thursday sentenced a 53-year-old man to 20 years of imprisonment on charges of raping a 16-year-old girl multiple times and impregnating her two years back.Judge Pragyan Paramita Roul imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict. The failure to pay which would result in his sentence being increased by a year. The court also directed the Odisha State Legal Services Authority (OSLSA) to pay a compensation of Rs 8 lakh to the girl.The girl was found to be three months pregnant following which her mother filed an FIR in the police station. She alleged that her daughter was raped multiple times by the man, a neighbour. The judge examined 12 witnesses and medical report, said Nehru Kumar Sahu, the special public prosecutor.
