Jaipur: Fifty students from Rajasthan will take part in Yuva Sangam Phase VI, with Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur set to flag off the delegation for an educational and cultural exchange visit to Karnataka Thursday.MNIT Jaipur, the sender higher education institution for Rajasthan, will organise an orientation programme for the selected delegates. The 50 participants were chosen from around 2,000 applications received across the state.Officials said the participants, aged 18 to 33, include undergraduate students and PhD scholars. Selection was limited to students outside MNIT, with priority given to those from rural backgrounds and families earning less than Rs 1 lakh annually.The students will visit the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Dharwad for an eight-day programme from May 8 to 15. In return, MNIT Jaipur will host 50 students from IIIT Dharwad in Rajasthan from June 5 to 12.Yuva Sangam is an initiative under the Centre’s Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme, aimed at strengthening national integration through interstate youth exchanges.During the visit, participants will engage with five themes which includes ‘Paryatan, Parampara, Pragati, Prodyogiki and Paraspar Sampark.’MNIT Jaipur director N.P. Padhy said the initiative reflects India’s vision of a culturally connected and progressive youth. He added that participants will document their experiences through an essay series titled My Yuva Sangam Story.
