Marriage, children, money, moving cities, living together or changing careers are big topics. But couples do not always have clear answers when they first discuss them.
Sometimes one person is simply thinking out loud.
“I wonder if we should move someday.”
“I’m not sure I’m ready for marriage.”
“What would our life look like if we lived somewhere else?”
These can be conversations, not decisions.
When such thoughts are immediately shared with friends, they can start sounding like announcements. Then come the questions, opinions and expectations.
Sometimes a couple needs the freedom to change its mind without having to explain that change to everyone around them.
