Amravati: Five persons, including a 13-year-old schoolgirl, were killed, while three others were seriously injured when a MSRTC Shiva-e bus rammed head-on into an autorickshaw on Warud-Rajura road around 10.45am on Wednesday. The autorickshaw was badly mangled following the impact.According to Warud police sources, the MSRTC bus was heading towards Wardha via Talegaon from Warud when it collided head-on with the autorickshaw killing four persons on the spot — auto-driver Kailash Ghanshyam Nagdive, 42 and passengers Chintaman Nagdive, 60, Mahi Mangulkar, 13, and Haribhau Shinde, 83, died on the spot, police said. Rajkumar Bhalavi, 55, who suffered grievous injuries, was rushed to Nagpur for treatment but succumbed to injuries during treatment. The other two injured include Pratibha Lad and Mohini Bhore who too were rushed to Nagpur and are under treatment.
Hearing the impact, people rushed to the spot and police were informed. On the complaint of Suraj alias Chakradhar Janardan Nagdive, Warud police registered an offence under relevant sections of BNS against bus driver Nikhil Rambhau Warthi, 26, in Ashti tehsil of Wardha district.
