Bengaluru: Two miscreants involved in a series of thefts across the city were arrested and five two-wheelers and eight gas cylinders were recovered from them.The arrested are Syed Afzal alias Pandey, 27, employee at a mutton stall, and Syed Touhid, 19, auto driver.On March 28, the miscreants robbed Shivu, 23, a mason from Raichur who was staying in a shed at Nrupathunganagar, south Bengaluru. When Shivu was asleep in the shed at an under-construction site, one of the miscreants barged in around 8pm, threatened him with a machete and robbed him of Rs 5,000 before fleeing on a two-wheeler with an accomplice.Puttenahalli police nabbed the duo near Vinayakanagar Circle on May 20. During interrogation, they confessed not only to the robbery but also to multiple thefts involving two-wheelers and LPG cylinders in Madiwala, Jayanagar, Kumaraswamy Layout and Puttenahalli. Afzal was previously involved in seven cases and had been arrested earlier, while Touhid was caught for the first time.
