Fazilka: Passengers on the Fazilka-Delhi train were allegedly looted at knifepoint in the wee hours of Friday. Passengers claimed that some miscreants entered the Fazilka-Delhi train at 2:30 am and robbed travellers, including the women. The video of the incident also went viral on social media.Sukhdayal Chand, a driver with the Fazilka fire brigade department, who was travelling on the train, said the train left for Delhi from Fazilka at 2:05 am and he was robbed by four young men carrying knives.

Recounting the incident, one passenger said as the train stopped at Bariwala station, four young men boarded the train and began abusing women without reason. When they were resisted, they started quarrelling with them. A member of the victin family, who lives in Sri Muktsar Sahib, reported that the men stole approximately Rs 10,000 in cash, a gold chain, and his wife’s earrings, along with other items. He stated that he was not only robbed but also assaulted.Demanding justice, Sukhdayal Chand appealed to the Fazilka, Ferozepur, and Bathinda police to take cognisance of the matter and arrest the culprits at the earliest.Notably, a similar incident was also reported from the Rajpura-Bathinda-Fazilka-bound train Thursday morning, when four unidentified miscreants assaulted and robbed a young man travelling on a train from Bathinda to Fazilka. Following the incident, the victim filed a complaint with the GRP police, demanding action.Rajveer Singh, a resident of Muktsar, said he boarded the train from Rajpura to Fazilka. When the train departed Bathinda station, he was sitting in the last compartment. By that time, most passengers had disembarked, and the compartment was nearly empty.According to Rajveer Singh, four young men entered the compartment and sat next to him. After a while, one of them tried to take the mobile phone from his pocket. When he resisted, the other man slapped him.
