Four individuals have been taken into custody in Dhanbad after their audacious attempt to extort Rs 1 crore from a businessman was uncovered. These suspects claimed ties to notorious gangster Prince Khan, using intimidation tactics to achieve their ends. In a twist, they also had their sights set on a nearby private hospital.

Dhanbad: Four men were arrested for trying to extort Rs 1 crore from a businessman by posing as associates of gangster Prince Khan, Police said on Thursday.SP (City) Ritwik Srivastava said on May 6, businessman Ghulam Ansari filed a written complaint with the Barwadda police station alleging unidentified criminals demanded Rs 1 crore over phone and threatened to kill him.In the investigation that followed, the callers were traced through the number and their location analysis. A special team was then formed to carry out the raids. Those arrested were identified as Devanand Singh ,28, Balak Kumar Das,27, Mohammad Nasir Ansari, 47, and Surendra Kumar Mahto, 30.“During interrogation, the accused confessed that they had used the name of Prince Khan to extort money not only from Ansari but also from the operator of a private hospital in Dhanbad,” he said.Police recovered two mobile phones allegedly used in the crime. Officials said further investigation is underway to uncover the entire network and identify other persons involved in the extortion racket.
