Chandrapur: A pickup van carrying workers to a wedding catering assignment overturned on the Upari-Donala road in Saoli taluka of Chandrapur district on Wednesday morning, injuring 30 people. The vehicle was headed from Donala to Antargaon when the driver reportedly lost control along a damaged roadside stretch between Upari and Donala at around 8.30am. The van overturned, leaving 27 women and three men injured.All injured workers were rushed to the General Hospital in Gadchiroli. Condition of eight of the injured is reported to be critical and are undergoing critical treatment, authorities said.Residents of Saoli, a taluka bordering Gadchiroli district, have long complained about severely neglected roads, blaming poor infrastructure and administrative inaction for repeated accidents. Despite recurring incidents, locals allege that repair works have been lackadaisical and havedemanded accountability from authorities.
