Alwar: An earth cave-in that occurred while laying the Chambal project pipeline in Bharatpur’s Jangi ka Nangla village resulted in the deaths of four people, including three women from the same family. Six others were injured, with two being treated at a private hospital in Bharatpur for serious injuries. The remaining injured were discharged after receiving first aid. The accident happened at around 8.30am on Sunday in the Gahloni police station area.The deceased were identified as Anukul, 22; Yogesh Kumari, 25; Vinod Devi, 55; and Vimla Devi, 45. Among the seriously injured are Dinesh, 38, son of Nahar Singh; and Jayshree, 50, wife of Vijendra. Gahloni police station officer Vijay Singh said the mishap occurred while excavating earth for a pipeline near the Jangi ka Nangla village. About 10 people involved in the accident were from Fatehpur Sikri and had come to dig the pit. The group had gone down into the pit after about 10 feet of excavation when the soil collapsed on them. The district administration and villagers rescued six people trapped under the soil. While three died on the spot, one woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
