Ghaziabad: Three minors have been apprehended for allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old boy to death in Loni Border following an argument over a remark made by his friend on the boys’ appearances.Police said Vinesh, a resident of Loni Border, had gone to the market with his 16-year-old friend on Friday when they passed the three boys in the street. His friend’s remark led to an argument between the two groups and it quickly turned into a physical fight. A 17-year-old boy pulled out a knife and stabbed Vinesh in his abdomen thrice.He was rushed to GTB Hospital in Delhi, where he died during treatment. Vinesh’s family members suspected that his friend, with whom he went to the market, was responsible for his death. They thought that the friend’s family was a bad influence on their son.That evening, they filed a complaint against his friend (16), his mother, uncle and two other unidentified people at the Loni Border police station. A case of murder was registered against them under BNS section 103.DCP (rural) Surendra Nath Tiwari said they looked into the CCTV footage and found that Vinesh and his friend got into a fight with three boys. Through human intelligence and manual inputs, the cops on Sunday traced the boys and took them into custody. Two of the boys were 15 years old, while the third was 17 years old.He said that the teenagers told the cops they were passing by when Vinesh’s friend remarked that they looked like goons (“ye log badmash hai”). He added that one of the boys heard the remark, and this led to an argument that soon escalated into a physical fight. “The groups fought for several minutes and one of the three pulled out a knife, stabbed the boy, and then fled,” the DCP said.The DCP also said that the knife used to stab Vinesh was bought by the 17-year-old accused from Haridwar. He had gone there as a kanwar pilgrim and bought the knife, which he kept in his pocket. During the fight on Friday, he pulled it out and stabbed Vinesh. The knife has been seized.
