Nagpur: Three schoolgirls from Ajni were allegedly forced to go on a bike ride to Koradi by young men they befriended on social media platforms. The girls were later dropped near their school, after which Ajni police registered a case against the accused.The complaint, filed by the mother of one of the girls, states that the students from a school near Ajni police station got acquainted with the three accused on a social media platform. While one accused is an adult, his two friends are minors.The accused allegedly built familiarity with the girls and then began following them around the school. Police said the accused pressured the girls to go on a ride with them, threatening to harm themselves if they refused.On Sept 16, between 7am and 12.17pm, the three accused allegedly took the girls to Koradi forcefully. They also warned the girls not to tell anyone at home. The girls were later brought back and dropped near the school. Police said the episode left the girls frightened. Ajni police have charged the accused with outraging modesty and also under the POCSO Act.The officials said the case is being treated as serious because the girls were stalked and threatened. Cops are also examining the social media chats between the accused and the girls.
