Udupi: Three police personnel, including Karkala DSP Vijay Prasad and circle inspector Sandeep have been suspended pending inquiry, following a preliminary inquiry into allegations of a demand for money at a department office. A video related to the allegations had gone viral on social media. SP Hariram Shankar said, “Based on the videos and allegations, the additional SP conducted a preliminary inquiry. On the basis of the inquiry report, Karkala DSP Vijay Prasad, inspector Sandeep and DSP office staff member Shivananda have been suspended pending inquiry.
