Chennai: Three more youths have been arrested on Thursday, for attacking a teenage college girl near Minjur after she resisted their burglary attempt, on Wednesday night. The girl, a resident of Vallur near Minjur, was studying on the terrace of her house on Wednesday night. Around 10pm, a gang of five men, who were drunk, entered the house.According to police, the group had consumed alcohol before committing the theft. When the girl raised an alarm, the accused attacked her with sharp weapons, inflicting multiple cut injuries. Hearing the commotion, nearby residents came to the girl’s rescue, but the gang fled the scene.One of the accused, Dilli Babu, jumped from the terrace while trying to escape and was caught by local residents. They informed the police and relatives and rushed the girl to a hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.Police said that Dilli Babu, who was detained, has pending cases against him. Special teams were formed to trace the other accused. Subsequently, three more suspects Muthamizhselvan, 24, Siddiq, 19, and Lokesh, 22, were arrested.
