PANCHKULA: Three people, including a woman, were killed and two others seriously injured after their Swift car and a truck collided near Tabar village in Raipur Rani late Sunday night.The truck driver has been arrested from the spot.According to the Panchkula police, the accident took place around midnight near Tabar village. Five people — four men and a woman — were travelling in a Swift car when it collided with the truck while coming from the Panchkula side.All five occupants were taken to the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula, where doctors declared two men and the woman dead. The two other men, who sustained serious injuries, were referred to GMCH-32, Chandigarh, for further treatment.Mouli police post in-charge Ramkaran said three people had died in the accident, while two others were seriously injured. Police have taken the vehicles involved in the accident into custody and initiated an investigation.Rishi, Pushkar from Dera Bassi, Divya from Shahzadpur in Ambala, Nihal and Sanjay from Abhyepur in Sector 19, Panchkula were travelling in the Swift car.The Mouli police chowki incharge confirmed Divya is among the three, who have died. Pushkar is admitted in GMCH-32. “Status of other victims is being confirmed,” said the incharge.
