Pune: Three occupants of a car were killed and two others suffered serious injuries in head-on collision with a truck in Nagargaon on Shirur-Kedgaon Chouphula Road around 1am on Saturday.The Shirur police identified the deceased car occupants as Pavan Rajhans Kale (34) and his daughter Aradhya (9) from Gunwadi in Ahilyanagar district, and his brother-in-law Balasaheb Prakash Nagwade (38) from Shirur. Two other members of the Kale family suffered serious injuries in the accident. The injured duo have been admitted to a hospital in Shirur. They are reported to be critical.The police said the car was heading towards Ahilyanagar and the truck towards Kedgaon Chouphula. It is suspected that the truck came on the wrong side of the road devoid of median.The Shirur police detained the truck driver on the charge of rash and negligent driving. A case was registered against him. According to the police, the Kale family went to Kolhapur to meet their son. He has been pursuing school education there. After the meeting, the family was returning home in their car when the accident occurred.Pavan Kale was a farmer. His daughter, Aradhya, was a school student in Gunwadi. Nagwade, Kale’s brother-in-law, worked with a private company, the Shirur police said.
