New Delhi: Police arrested three men accused of cheating people on the pretext of assisting them with cash deposits and withdrawals at ATMs.On July 15, police received a complaint about the theft of Rs 98,000. The complainant stated that while attempting to deposit money at an ATM, the three accused convinced him to use the cash deposit machine, only to later withdraw the amount fraudulently from an ATM in Burari.During the probe, police reviewed CCTV footage from the ATM booth and identified and apprehended one suspect, Dharmender. His accomplices, Saheb Kumar Sahni and Tuntun Mahto, were subsequently traced and arrested.The accused confessed to frequently loitering near ATM booths to collect forgotten ATM cards. Using these cards, they would deceive victims either by exchanging cards or withdrawing cash fraudulently, police said. TNN
