Patna: Three people were killed and three others seriously injured after a speeding four-wheeler ran over a group performing kirtan near a temple in Pipra police station area of Supaul district on Tuesday night.The accident occurred around 10pm near Bajrangbali temple on NH-327E near Kataiya Chowk. Police said around six people were participating in the kirtan by the roadside when the vehicle veered off the road and hit them. It travelled nearly 50 metres before crashing into a shop.The deceased were identified as Tilai Das, 65, and Raju Das, 50, both residents of ward 12, and Surendra Yadav, 45, of ward 15. The injured, Bhuvaneshwari Yadav, Ramchandra Yadav and Krishna Mohan Sah, were taken to hospital.Pipra police seized the vehicle. SHO Kishore Kumar said the cause of the crash was being investigated.Supaul district magistrate Sawan Kumar said the SDM had been sent to the spot and police were taking necessary action.
