In the quiet lanes of Gaura village, Bhojpur, a violent episode unfolded as three suspects were arrested following a shooting that left local resident Akhilesh Thakur, 34, injured. The assault occurred outside Thakur’s residence on Wednesday night, where he was ambushed by six armed attackers.

Ara: Three people accused of firing at a 34-year-old man in Bhojpur were arrested on Thursday. The incident occurred at Gaura village under Bahoranpur police station on Wednesday night, when six armed assailants attacked Akhilesh Thakur, who was sitting outside his house.From his hospital bed at Sadar Hospital, Ara, the victim said, “I have a land dispute with some co-villagers over nine decimals of land in our village. On Wednesday night, after returning from a Holi Milan ceremony, I was sitting outside my house when about six people suddenly arrived and started firing at me. I sustained a bullet injury in my left hand. When I tried to run to save my life, they continued firing at me. I fell into a drain while fleeing, after which the assailants escaped.”Bahoranpur SHO Vijay Kumar said, “We have arrested three named accused in the case. Prima facie, a land dispute with some co-villagers appears to be the reason behind the incident. Further investigation is underway.”
