Gurgaon: A 29-year-old man died by suicide after allegedly jumping in front of a moving train in the early Monday, with his head found decapitated and lying around 5-10 metres away from the rest of his body.A Gurgaon railway station Govt Railway Police officer said, “It is suspected that the man had jumped in front of the train, we are looking at the CCTV footage to ascertain if he was alone or with someone when the incident occurred.”The deceased, identified as Mohit, was a resident of Rajendra Park and a native of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. According to his family, he had recently started a new job at a mall and had joined work only three days before the incident.Police received information around 2 am about a body lying near the railway tracks. A police team reached the spot and found Mohit’s body near the tracks, while his dismembered head was lying several metres away.The body was taken into custody and sent for postmortem examination, which was conducted on Monday morning. The remains were subsequently handed over to the family for the last rites. A police officer said the circumstances leading to the incident were being verified and the exact reason behind Mohit’s death had not been ascertained.The officer said police were examining all possible circumstances surrounding the death, including whether Mohit had been facing any pressure or mental stress. “We are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident and examining all angles, including whether he was under any pressure or had been undergoing mental stress,” the officer said.Police said the investigation was underway and the exact circumstances preceding the incident were yet to be established.
