NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old Army jawan was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside a hotel room in southwest Delhi’s Satya Niketan on Saturday, with police recovering a suicide note from the room.A PCR call about the incident was received at the South Campus police station around 12.20pm, following which police personnel reached the hotel and found the man hanging inside the room, PTI reported.The deceased was identified as Anil Sai Tejja Vallepu, a resident of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. He was serving in the Army and was posted in Hisar, police said.A preliminary inquiry found that Vallepu had checked into the hotel on August 19 and had been staying there alone.The crime team was called to the spot and examined the scene as part of the investigation, police said.According to police, the suicide note recovered from the room did not contain any allegations against anyone.Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding Vallepu’s death and verifying the sequence of events preceding the incident.The body was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for further proceedings, including post-mortem examination, a police officer said.Further proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which deals with police inquiry and reporting in cases of suicide, are being carried out, police said.(With agency inputs)
