Over time, he returned Rs 48.5 lakh as a result of the steep interest, and 1 acre of land to the 6 accused. He sold his kidney to repay the remaining loan.The 6 accused were arrested and an SIT was formed to inquire into the incident. “All these moneylenders were unlicensed. Their property will also be attached,” said Bhoyar.A district level committee was also formed under the chairmanship of the district collector to take strict action against illegal money lending.He said the racket was widespread across India. “The racket extends to Trichy in Tamil Nadu and Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
