Gurgaon: A 25-year-old man died after jumping into a solid waste shredding machine in Kherki Daula on Wednesday.Police, while ruling out foul play, said Raj from Bihar worked as a cook at a waste processing facility in the Bangrola area. The incident occurred between 2.30 and 3pm. He used to live in rented accommodation in the Bangrola area, while his family lived in Bihar.According to police, CCTV footage from the facility shows the shredding machine was not operational when he arrived at the spot. “He himself switched on the machine and later jumped into it. No workers were present at the spot when the incident occurred. Workers later found blood in the machine, raising suspicion, following which they checked and found Raj stuck inside,” an officer said.Police from the Kherki Daula police station shifted the body for an autopsy, which was to be conducted after the arrival of the victim’s family, which was on its way to Gurgaon on being informed at the time of filing the report.Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the incident. While the CCTV footage indicates that the man jumped into the machine, police are looking into all aspects.
