Mapusa: The district administration on Monday demolished 23 structures at Temwada on Morjim beach that were built in violation of the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) rules. The demolition ordered by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) was carried out under police protection, two days after advocate Ankur Kumar and his client, Anil Naik, were assaulted by a group of men over a demolition order.Police arrested local business man Dileep Morje and his son, Dhruva, in connection with the assault on Kumar and Naik. The GCZMA’s demolition order was upheld by the National Green Tribunal, citing the need to protect Goa’s fragile coastal ecology, including a key nesting habitat for olive ridley turtles.
