Mumbai: MSEDCL has detected 2,285 electricity theft cases involving 3.76 million units—valued at Rs 10 crore—across MMR since April. So far, Rs 7 crore has been recovered from 1,494 consumers. First information reports (FIRs) have been registered against 185 consumers, with legal proceedings underway against the remaining offenders. 435 cases have been detected involving Rs 1.8 cr in Thane division, 771 cases worth Rs 4.87 cr in Vashi, and 1,079 cases worth Rs 3.39 crore in Pen division.
