Bhagabanpur: NIA has issued a summons to Manab Parua, Trinamool candidate for the Bhagabanpur constituency, to appear at its Salt Lake office on Thursday for questioning in connection with the 2022 Bhupatinagar blast. The notice issued on March 30 was delivered when Parua was busy campaigning.The case dates back to Dec 2, 2022, when a massive explosion ripped through the residence of TMC booth president Rajkumar Manna in Naruavila . The blast claimed three — Rajkumar Manna, his brother Devkumar Manna and Biswajit Gayen. Following allegations that the site was being used as an illegal bomb-making unit, Calcutta HC. While Parua’s Contai residence was raided a year ago, he largely remained elusive until securing bail.Even while saying that he would keep his date with NIA, Parua termed the summons “politically motivated” attempt to derail his campaign. “My family and I moved to Contai long before this incident,” he said.
