Mangaluru: A 21-year-old man, identified as Srikanth, a resident of Jangalpalli in Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested in connection with a Pocso case registered at Dharmasthala police station.According to the complaint, Srikanth allegedly sexually assaulted a minor girl between Sept and Nov 2025 and threatened her against disclosing the incident to anyone. The girl subsequently became pregnant and gave birth to a child.Dharmasthala police registered a case on Aug. 23 under Sections 64(2)(m), 65(1) and 351(2) of BNS, and Sections 4(2) and 6 of the Pocso Act. After the case was registered, Srikanth allegedly attempted to flee.Dharmasthala PSI Samarth R. Ganiger, head constables Vrushabha and Mahesh, and police constable Charan Raj arrested Srikanth at Doddaballapur in Bengaluru on Aug. 25.He was produced before the jurisdictional court, which remanded him to 15 days of judicial custody.
