T’puram: A 20-year-old man was killed after the motorcycle he was travelling on collided with a car at Kochuvila Mukku near Alamcode on the national highway early on Sunday. The deceased was Amal of Panayara in Chemmaruthi, Varkala.According to the police, as per the preliminary investigation, speeding is suspected to have caused the accident. Attingal Police have registered a case under the provisions relating to unnatural death.The accident occurred around 1.30am when Amal and his friend, Nandu, were travelling towards Attingal from Panayara. The car was proceeding towards Kollam when it collided with the motorcycle.The impact threw both Amal and Nandu onto the road. They were rushed to a private hospital in Attingal. Nandu is currently undergoing treatment.Amal was later shifted to the govt medical college hospital for further treatment. However, his condition deteriorated and he succumbed to his injuries, police said.The police are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.
