Patna: In a move aimed at improving passenger comfort and rail connectivity, the railways is likely to introduce two new Amrit Bharat Express trains on the Ahmedabad–Patna and Pune–Danapur routes soon. The proposed trains are expected to run on a weekly basis, providing an additional travel option for passengers on these busy corridors.According to ECR sources, the Railway Board has already approved the proposal for the introduction of these services. However, the official notification regarding their operation is yet to be issued and is expected to be announced by the East Central Railway (ECR) in the coming days, sources said.The two Amrit Bharat Express trains have been planned with a load composition of 22 coaches designed to provide improved riding comfort and enhanced passenger amenities. The trains are part of the railways’ broader initiative to upgrade the travel experience, particularly for long-distance passengers.A Danapur railway official said that once operational, the new services are expected to ease congestion on existing trains and meet the growing demand for travel between Gujarat, Maharashtra and Bihar.According to sources, the Ahmedabad-Patna Amrit Bharat Express is being introduced in place of a special train currently running between Ahmedabad and Patna.The Amrit Bharat Express train will depart from Ahmedabad every Wednesday at 6.30pm and reach Patna at about 12.30am on Friday. On the return journey, it will leave Patna at 10.30 pm on Friday and arrive in Ahmedabad at around 5.25am on Sunday. The new train will operate via the Kota-Agra-Tundla-Govindpur-DDU route, sources said.Similarly, the Pune-Danapur Amrit Bharat Express will be another semi high-speed train introduced on the route, replacing the special train currently running between Pune and Danapur.
