Noida: Days after the power department announced nine new 33/11 kV substations, work is set to begin on two more in sectors 151 and 155 near Noida Expressway. Officials said construction is expected to start by the end of March and the substations are likely to be ready by Aug.According to a power department official, the substations are set to come up at a cost of around Rs 20 crore. “The agency that submitted the lowest bid for the Sector 151 substation is currently under assessment for financial stability to ensure it meets the necessary criteria,” said the official.Deadline for tender submissions for Sector 151 closed on March 17. The process of evaluating the tender documents is now expected to commence, and its verification process is expected to take about 10 days, after which financial bids will be opened.TOI previously reported that nine new 33/11 kV capacity susbtations are planned to come up in Noida under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Additionally, 10 substations will be revamped with enhanced transformer capacity, and around 450 transformers across the city will be upgraded from 250 kVA to 400 kVA. The work is slated to be completed this year, officials said.
