In an attempt to save the animal, the driver swerved the vehicle, causing the car to crash into an auto-rickshaw travelling ahead.

Varanasi: Two youths were killed and another seriously injured after a speeding car rammed into an auto-rickshaw on national highway near Katsila village under Sadar Kotwali area of Chandauli district late on Tuesday.According to reports, the accident occurred around midnight when a car enroute to Bihar from Varanasi lost control after an animal suddenly came onto the road. In an attempt to save the animal, the driver swerved the vehicle, causing the car to crash into an auto-rickshaw travelling ahead.The impact was so severe that all three youths travelling in the auto-rickshaw were critically injured. Hearing the commotion, local residents rushed to the spot and informed the police. Sadar Kotwali police reached the scene and with the help of locals sent the injured to hospital.One Tinku Paswan (22), a resident of Dak Bungalow Ward-5 died on the spot while injured Tulsi (27) of Sakaldiha died while undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre. Another victim, Nikku Rai (23) of Kaili Road, is undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre and his condition is stated to be critical.CO Sadar Namvendra the car driver fled the spot along with the vehicle after the accident and efforts are on to trace him and the vehicle.
