New Delhi: Days after a property dealer was shot dead in outer Delhi’s Narela, police Tuesday arrested two men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the murder.The incident was reported on Sept 3 after police received a PCR call about a man being shot by motorcycle-borne assailants. A police team reached near a gym in Bakner village and found the victim lying on the road in a pool of blood, with several empty cartridges scattered nearby.The deceased was identified as Pramod, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana.A social media post, purportedly issued by the Himanshu Bhau gang, claimed responsibility for the murder.Joint commissioner of police (Northern Range) Vijay Singh said teams were constituted under the supervision of Rohini DCP Shashank Jaiswal to trace the accused. Police said the suspects were constantly on the move and attempting to evade arrest.“On Tuesday, inspector Sandeep Godara received information that three associates allegedly involved in the case would arrive near Dahiya Badshah Marg in Sector 23-24, Rohini, on a motorcycle, carrying illegal firearms and allegedly planning to commit another crime,” Singh said.A trap was laid and the suspects were signalled to stop. However, they allegedly attempted to flee. Police blocked their route, following which the motorcycle skidded and the trio fell.Police alleged that the suspects then opened fire at the team. Police initially fired two warning shots in the air but retaliated after the suspects allegedly continued firing.Two accused, Deepak Kumar alias Deep Pahalwan and Nitik, suffered gunshot injuries, while a juvenile was also apprehended. All three were taken to hospital for treatment.Police said three pistols and four live cartridges were recovered and 11 empty cartridges were seized from the spot.Nitik (24) has previously been booked in two Arms Act cases, police said. A reward of Rs 50,000 each had been announced for information leading to the arrest of Nitik and Deepak.
