Chennai: More than 10 months after two men, posing as doctors at Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital, stole gold jewellery and a mobile phone from a woman attendant, the city police traced and arrested them on Thursday.They were identified as Rajesh Prithvi, 35, and Aravindan, 30. Police said Kanchana, 30, of Kolathur, had accompanied her mother-in-law to meet an anaesthesiologist at the hospital on June 6, when a man approached her and introduced himself as the doctor in charge of surgery. He requested the medical documents, which Kanchana provided. On June 7, he took her to the seventh floor, saying they needed to purchase medicines. He then suggested Kanchana undergo a scan and instructed her to place her jewellery and phone in a bag. So, she handed over her three-sovereign gold chain, thaali, 2g gold ring, and her mobile phone to the man who left saying he would keep the bag in his cabin, but never returned. Kanchana then lodged a complaint at the RGGGH police station.
