Patna: Police arrested two men in Nawada on Thursday after a video showing the alleged harassment of a young woman and her cousin went viral on social media. A case has been registered against six named accused, and raids are underway to nab the remaining suspects.According to police, the woman was returning home with her cousin after an examination when they stopped near Madhopur in the Charkhi Pahad police station area. A group of local youths allegedly abused and harassed them, forced the woman to remove her face cover and pressured the man to apply sindoor on her forehead. The incident was filmed and later circulated online.Based on the woman’s complaint, police registered an FIR at Thali police station and arrested Dharmendra Kumar and Bahadur Chaudhary. The other accused are being identified and tracked.Sadar-2 SDPO Rahul Singh said some people attempted to give the incident a communal colour on social media, but the claim was found to be false. “Both the victims and the accused belong to the same community and knew each other,” he said.
